Bayesian inference is a method for integrating new information into probabilistic models. This workshop offers on the one hand an introduction to Bayesian methods and on the other hand shows how these methods can be used in biology.
The workshop on bayesian methods in biology included the following presentations:
Title of Presentation | Speaker | Affiliation |
---|---|---|
Introduction to Bayesian methods | Prof. Michael Habeck | AG Mikroskopische Bildanalyse am Universitätsklinikum Jena |
Stochastic variational inference to find study complex human diseases | Dr. Johannes Soeding | Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences |
Where is space for Bayes in biology? | Prof. Holger Schielzeth | Population Ecology Group, University of Jena |
Probability, entropy and information to explain biological phenomena | Prof. Peter Dittrich | Bioinformatics, University of Jena |
